I closed my eyes and smelled the smoke,

sweet and heavy on my lungs.

I taste someone on my lips.

I crave the salt of another.

My mind gets drunk and I wander.

I wander far

and far

Until I hear the ticking of a watch.

Time never stands still.

I follow friend rabbit.

I open the door.

And the sea swallows me.

The Dodo cries and suddenly it's being eaten by an owl.

My Cheshire grins at me,

mouth bloody and welcome.

I know that danger cannot touch me in these waters.
